1.In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
2.In another bowl, whisk together milk and egg until well combined.
3.Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
4.Heat butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
5.Pour a ladle of batter into the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown.
6.Remove pancakes from skillet and keep warm. Repeat with remaining batter.
