Turkish restaurant near our accommodation – First night in Paris On our first evening in Paris, we found this lovely little Turkish restaurant and it turned out to be a great choice. After a long day of travel, we arrived late, hungry, and just wanted something reliable. This delivered. Atmosphere and first impressions The place had a really nice feel straight away. It was busy with locals, which is always a good sign, and stretched quite a long way back from the entrance. We were shown to a table towards the rear and felt very welcome as a family of four with children aged 8 and 11. It had a relaxed, lively atmosphere. Almost like a Greek tavern in feel, with a mix of groups, couples, and families, and a bit of sport playing on a screen in the background. Food and experience Service was quick, which was perfect given how hungry we all were. We started with lamb, which came out within minutes and kept everyone going while we decided on the rest. We ended up choosing a selection of Turkish pizzas. Four different ones between us. Mine was a mixed meat option with a good combination of toppings. My daughter had a sausage and cheese style one, similar to a pepperoni pizza, which she really enjoyed, especially the stuffed crust. My son went for a meat feast style option with pastrami, and my wife had a ricotta and spinach version which she described as exceptional. I tried some and it was very fresh and full of flavour. We also ordered a side salad which came loaded with black olives and dressed with a pomegranate-style dressing that really stood out. One of the highlights was the complimentary Turkish bread served with freshly made tzatziki. We all enjoyed this so much that it probably reduced how much of the pizza we could manage. Portions were generous and we ended up taking some slices home. Value and service Service throughout was excellent. Friendly, fast, and attentive without being over the top. The total bill came to around €75 for the four of us, including two alcoholic drinks and two soft drinks, which felt very reasonable for the quality and amount of food. Practical points The food looked fresh and well presented, with some of it visible on display. There was a wide range of drinks available, along with desserts and hot drinks which we did not try on this visit. There is a toilet at the back which was clean and adequate. Access at the front looked manageable, although deeper into the restaurant might be more of a squeeze depending on space. Areas for improvement The only real downside is that the venue itself feels a little worn. Our menu was starting to fall apart, and the seating showed signs of age, including some marks and worn fabric. It did not affect the meal, but a refresh would easily lift it to another level. Overall Despite a slightly tired interior, the food, service, and atmosphere more than make up for it. This is clearly a well-liked local spot, and it is easy to see why. A really enjoyable first meal in Paris and somewhere we would happily return to. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy Turkish food.
